Beaded Suncatcher

Here is a fun project to do with small children! Use a paper plate as the base and build a beaded sun catcher for your window!

Materials


  • Glitter Fuzzy Sticks
  • Mini Suction Cups
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Markers
  • Scissors
  • Hole Punch

Instructions


Step 1. Gather your supplies.

Step 2.

Cut the center out of a plate if you have a clean paper plate to recycle use it! Tip- it helps to fold the plate in half and then cut the middle section.

Step 3.

Color the plate with your markers.

Step 4.

Flip the plate over and color the other side of the plate. The plate will be hung in a window, so you will be able to see both sides.

Step 5.

After you have colored the plate, punch 4 holes in the inside rim of the plate. Punch the holes so that they will be across from each other, top, bottom, left side and right side.

Step 6.

Cut a Glitter Stick in half. Attach one end of the Glitter Stick through one hole in the plate.

Step 7.

String some Tri-Beads onto the Glitter Stick. You can also use Pony Beads or other plastic beads for this project.

Step 8.

Once you have about 4 or 5 beads on the stick, attach the open end of the Glitter Stick to the opposite hole on the plate.

Step 9.

Attach the other half of the Glitter Stick to another hole on the plate. Repeat Steps 6 and 7.

Make a Beaded Sun Catcher

Step 10.

Decide which part of your sun catcher will be the top. Punch a hole and attach a Glitter Stick for hanging. Loop onto a Suction Cup and attach to your window to display!
