Button Birdhouse

Transform a small milk carton into a tiny home for your tiny pom bird!

Materials


  • EZ Grip Paint Brushes, 5 pack
  • Craft Buttons
  • Neon Fuzzy Sticks
  • Acrylic Paint Jars, 24 Assorted colors
  • Rainbow Poms Assorted Sizes, 100 pieces
  • Wiggly Eyes 7mm
  • Small Milk Carton
  • Hot Glue Gun **May Require Adult Assistance

Instructions


Step 1. Gather your supplies.


Step 2.

Paint a small milk carton bright green.


Step 3.

Glue (3) medium sized buttons to the carton using a hot glue gun, as shown.


Step 4.

Glue (3) more medium sized buttons overlapping the first row.


Step 5.

Repeat Step 4 until you reach the top of the carton.


Step 6.

Repeat Steps 4 & 5 on the other side.


Step 7.

Cut a 1 ½” piece off of a wooden dowel.


Step 8.

Cut a circle out of the front of the milk carton, above the dowel as show


Step 9.

Glue a medium button to the top of a medium pom.


Step 10.

Glue (2) 7mm wiggly eyes to the top of the button.


Step 11.

Cut a 1” piece of orange fuzzy stick. Fold it in half and insert each side into the button holes to create a beak.


Step 12.

Cut (2) 1” pieces of pink fuzzy stick and fold in half, as shown.


Step 13.

Glue (1) fuzzy stick from Step 11 to each side of the pom. These will be the bird’s wings!


Step 14.

Cut another 1” piece of pink fuzzy stick and arch the top of it, as shown.


Step 15.

Cut (2) 1” pieces of orange fuzzy stick and fold the bottom, as shown.


Step 16.

Glue the pink fuzzy stick from Step 13 to the back of the button and the orange fuzzy sticks from Step 14 to the bottom of the pom.


Step 17.

Put your little bird inside of his new home!
