Materials

  • Paint Dab Markers
  • Banner Paper 24in x 25 yds
  • Cardboard Boxes (shoebox lid and a tall, skinny box)
  • Ruler
  • Craft Glue
  • Glue Stick
  • Scissors
  • Pencil

Instructions

Step 1. Gather your supplies.

Step 2.

Cut the bottom from the tall skinny box. It should be about 6” tall. This will be the pen holder for the organizer.

Step 3.

Place the pen holder into a corner of the shoe box lid.

Step 4.

To create dividers for your organizer, measure and cut pieces of cardboard from the left over skinny box. Place the dividers in the shoe box lid to finish building the organizer.

Step 5.

Cut a piece of Banner Paper larger than the shoe box lid.  Tip: Leave at least 3-4 inches of paper around each side of the lid.

Step 6.

Measure and cut pieces of Banner Paper for the pen holder and the cardboard dividers, again leaving plenty of space around the edges of the paper.

Step 7.

Decorate all the pieces of cut paper with the Paint Dab Markers.

Step 8.

To wrap the paper on the shoe box lid, turn the paper over so that the dot design is face down on your work surface.  Glue the bottom of the shoe box lid to the middle of the paper.

Step 9.

Cut the corners from the paper, as shown. This will make the next step easier.

Step 10.

Put glue on the edges of the paper and gently fold the paper up and over the sides of the box. Fold over all the edges to create a nice finished look.

Step 11.

Cut a piece of Construction Paper to the fit the inside of the shoe box lid.

Step 12.

Glue the Construction Paper to the inside of the show box lid. This will cover any of the edges from the  dotted paper and will make the bottom of the organizer look nice.

Step 13.

Start wrapping the pencil holder.  Wrap the bottom like a regular present.  For the open end of the box, use the scissors to cut the corners of the paper, as shown.

Step 14.

Put glue on the edges of the paper and gently fold the paper up and over the sides of the box. Fold over all the edges to create a nice finished look.

Step 15.

Wrap the other cardboard divider pieces with the dotted paper, and glue all the pieces together to complete your organizer.

Step 16.

Finish your organizer by adding stickers and glitter glue.
