Decorate a plastic mask with music note designs and other symbols for Carnivale!

Step 1. Gather your supplies.

Step 2.

 

Use a large 1 inch brush to apply light brown Acrylic Paint to your paper. Tip: create a streaky texture with this brush for a fun effect!

Step 3.

While your paper is drying, cut your card stock into (3) long triangle (which are approximately 9 ½ x 3 ½ inches).

Step 4.

Create a curled effect in your paper by rolling the paper around a paint bottle as shown.

Step 5.

Take the painted paper from step 2 and use a small brush and dark brown Acrylic Paint to draw a music staff and notes. The design can be random and does not need to be perfect as you will be cutting it up in a later step.

Step 6.

Once dry, cut up the music notes paper.

Step 7.

 

Using a sponge brush and decoupage glue, attach the pieces of music notes paper to some, but not all areas, on the Plastic Mask. Use the decoupage glue on the top of the music notes paper as well as it will dry clear and shiny.

Step 8.

 

Once the glue dries, paint the rest of the mask with red Acrylic Paint. You can also paint over some areas of the music notes for a different textured effect.

Step 9.

Use gold Glitter Glue around the areas where the paint meets the music notes paper and set aside to dry.

Step 10.

With the help of an adult, use a hot glue gun to attach the triangles to the inside of the mask, as shown.

Using the hot glue gun, attach the Jingle Bells to the tops of each triangle.

Use the red glitter glue to add a design to the triangles like the swirls shown. Once dry, your mask is ready to wear when putting on a musical performance!
