Frog Bead Pet

Step 1. Gather your supplies.

Step 2.

Cut your Braiding Cord to 60 inches in length. Stiffen both ends by rolling it between your finger with a dab of craft glue. Allow glue to dry. This will help when threading the beads.

Step 3.

Create a lark knot on the key ring. To learn how to create a lark knot, click here. To create Row 1, thread (3) green Pony Beads onto the left hand string.

Step 4.

Take your right hand string and through back through beads from the other end.

Step 5.

Pull cords tight to form this row of your Frog Bead Pet.

Step 6.

To create Row 2, thread the following through the left hand string: (1) black, (2) green and (1) black bead. Repeat steps 4 and 5 to complete the row. The black beads here are the frog’s eyes.

Step 7.

To create Row 3, thread (5) green beads on the left hand string. Repeat steps 4 and 5 to complete the row.

Step 8.

To create the arms of the frog, thread the following through the left hand string: (4) green and (3) yellow beads.

Step 9.

Take the end of the left hand string and thread back through the (4) green beads from the left to the right to complete the arm.

Step 10.

Pull the cord tight to create the left arm. Repeat Steps 8 and 9 with the right hand string to complete the second arm, only thread the end from the right to the left.

Step 11.

To create Row 4, repeat Step 7.

Step 12.

To create Row 5, thread (6) green beads on the left hand string. Repeat steps 4 and 5 to complete the row. Repeat again to create Row 6.

Step 13.

To create Row 7, thread (5) green beads on the left hand string. Repeat steps 4 and 5 to complete the row.

Step 14.

To create the frog’s left leg, thread (5) green and (3) yellow beads on the left hand string. Repeat the same process as Steps 9 and 10 to create the leg, making sure to thread the string through all (5) green beads.

Step 15.

Repeat Step 14 with the right hand string to create the frog’s right leg, making sure to thread back through the green beads going from the right to the left.

Step 16.

Knot the ends of the cord to the ends of Row 7. Trim any excess cord. Congrats! You have made a frog bead pet!
