Instructions

Step 1. Gather your supplies.

Step 2.

Click the “template” button under the completed photo of this project above to download and print the lacing template seen here.

Step 3.

Cut out the shapes.

Step 4.

Using the shaded circles on the template as a guide, punch holes around the shape.

Step 5.

Decorate and color the shape. We used oil pastels.

Step 6.

Cut a 24 inch piece of Friendship Thread. Tip: Wrap a small piece of masking tape around one end of the cord, this will make the lacing easier.

Step 7.

Lace one end of the Thread through one hole on the shape.

Step 8.

Tie the end of the Thread to the hole to secure it.

Step 9.

Bring the Thread from behind the shape, up through the second hole to begin the lacing action.

Step 10.

Take the Thread and lace it through the third hole as shown.

Step 11.

Repeat the lacing, going in through one hole and back through the next one, until you have completed lacing the whole heart.

Step 12.

Tie the loose end of thread to the last hole and trim off the excess thread.

Step 14.

Color and thread the remaining shapes.
