Instructions

Step 1. Gather your supplies.

Step 2.

Draw (1) or (2) homes that are to the left of the house or the building that you live in. Leave some space on the right side of the paper to create the “Pop Up” of your own home.

Step 3.

Once your drawing is complete, use water and a Watercolor Paint Palette to paint a vibrant picture.

Step 4.

Draw and cut your own home out of a separate piece of stiff paper. Paint the home with the Watercolor Paints, just as you did in Step 3.

Step 5.

You will now create the “Pop up” portion of this project, your house. Cut (2) pieces of paper towel roll or toilet paper roll to about 1 inch in height. Glue the cardboard rolls to the back of your cut out home.

Step 6.

Glue the “Pop Up” to the rest of your picture and display!

Further Discussion:

If your class lives in the country you may choose to draw the local town or houses that are close by. You can also dedicate an entire “Pop Up” picture to (1) home and the surrounding land. If the entire class does the assignment than you can have a great visual of what a town, city or village looks like!
