Cork Train with Moving Wheels

Step 1. Gather your supplies.

Step 2.

Paint (8) wine corks red.

Step 3.

Glue together (2) rectangles made up of (4) corks.

Step 4.

On the bottom of one rectangle, glue (2) pieces of straw that are about as long as the corks.

Step 5.

Cut (2) pieces of 3/16″ dowels, just a little longer then the corks.

Step 6.

Paint (10) medium buttons and (2) large buttons metallic charcoal (from the premium paint kit). These will be for the whole train.

Step 7.

Insert the cut dowels into the straws and glue a medium button on each end.

Step 8.

Glue the second rectangle of corks on top of the base you just created to create a cargo train car.

Step 9.

Create a second train car repeating the same steps.

Step 10.

Paint (3) large champagne corks and a mini wine/champagne cork red.

Step 11.

Create a third base using the steps from above. The back wheels on this base will use the (2) large buttons and the front wheels will be (2) medium buttons.

Glue (2) of the large champagne corks on top of the base as shown.

Step 12.

Glue the third large champagne cork on the train, as shown.

Step 13.

Paint the top of the mini wine/champagne cork the same color as the wheels, then glue on as shown.

Step 14.

Attach magnets to to the back of the front of the train, a magnet on each end of the middle of the cargo car and a magnet on the front end of the second cargo car so they all move together.
