Instructions

Step 1. Gather your supplies.

Step 2.
Have an adult use a hot glue gun to draw your design on the mask. Our design is based on the symbol used to represent the Egyptian Sun God, Ra.  The symbol is an eye with the addition of lines above and below the eye.  The glue will dry raised, so you will be able to see and feel the design.

Step 3.

Cut the tissue paper into small squares.

Step 4.

Use a foam brush to spread some decoupage glue on the mask.

Step 5.

Place a piece of cut tissue paper on the decoupage glue. Press the tissue paper down on the glue design, to create a raised appearance.

Step 6.

Continue adding and pressing the tissue paper to the mask until the entire mask is covered.  Add a layer of decoupage glue over the mask. The decoupage glue will give the the mask a shiny finish.

Step 7.

Add a thin layer of paint to the mask. Allow areas of the tissue paper to show through the paint.

Step 8.

Use the glitter glue to outline the raised design.

Step 9.

To finish your decorating your mask, add some assorted acrylic jewels.
