We’re traveling to the rainforest with this adorable fuzzy jaguar craft!
Did you know… Jaguars are only found in the America’s? They are the largest of all the big cats on the American continents, living mostly in South and Central American Rainforests. They are most similar to leopards, but leopards are found throughout most of Africa and Asia. How to tell them apart? Their spots are both shaped like roses, called rosettes, however only the Jaguar’s rosettes have spots inside them.

Step 1.
To make a rainforest canvas background, paint your canvas mixing multiple colors of green and teal paint.

Use a sponge brush to layer on thick dabs of green paint to create the texture of tree leaves.

Print the downloadable template, above, and cut out. Trace the template onto a piece of yellow foam or construction paper.

Cut the jaguar shape out of the foam.

Glue black poms to your jaguar to create its spots!

Cut a small triangle out of pink foam or paper to form the jaguar’s nose.

With a black marker or paint, draw whiskers and a smiling mouth. Glue your jaguar to the canvas to place it in its rainforest habitat!
