Use hemp cord and beads to make a spiral knot patriotic bracelet.

Materials

  • Hemp Cord
  • Red Pony Beads
  • Scissors
  • Clipboard

Instructions

Step 1. Gather your supplies.

Step 2.

Cut Hemp Cord to the desired length. (Recommended lengths: Bracelets 7 ½ feet, Choker Necklace 15 feet, Anklet 10 feet). Fold the strand in half and tie the folded ends into one knot with a small loop. Now you have one big knot and 2 strands of cord.

Step 3.

Clip knot under clip of clipboard in order to secure the bracelet for crafting. Separate the two strands and begin creating spiral knots. To learn more on how to create spiral knots, click here.

Step 4.

Make (8) spiral knots. Thread (1) Mini Pony Bead onto the right hand strand.

Step 5.

Repeat Step 4 for the desired length. Tip: use different color Mini Pony Beads or alternate a pattern of colors throughout your bracelet.

Step 6.

To create the pattern shown, we completed the following design: (8) spiral knots, (1) red Mini Pony Bead, (8) spiral knots, (1) light blue Mini Pony Bead and repeat.

Step 7.

Once you have completed your desired length, you will need to make a closure for your bracelet. Start by making a double knot at the end of the bracelet. You may want to tie your bracelet on directly to your wrist to wear it all the time. However, if you want to make a unique closure that allows you to take the bracelet on and off, continue to Step 8.

Step 8.

Thread (1) regular sized Pony Bead through both strands.

Step 9.

Leave a little gap and tie a second double knot after the bead.

Step 10.

Use scissors to trim excess strands.

Step 11.

To wear bracelet, slip final Pony Bead through original knot and pull to tighten.
