Combine recycling, nature, & creativity all in one beautiful harvest decoration!

  • Grateful for Nature: Inspiration is everywhere in nature — many artists use it as the subject of their art! Whether they paint, sketch, or sculpt — they show how beautiful nature can be. How are your students influenced by nature to create their pinecones?
  • Thankful for Recycling: Finding leaves and pinecones on the ground is a reminder of how fragile nature is — and it’s our job to take care of it. Trading construction paper for brown paper bags is a great start to contributing to eco-friendly crafting. Brainstorm other ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle to create the ultimate green classroom!

While the pinecones dry, test your students’ STEM skills with a recycled paper activity. Make your own paper press and use colorful craft materials to create all kinds of fun paper textures!
